Installing Buddy Radar

Requirements

• OS: Windows XP,Vista
• PC with wireless LAN
• Skype 3.6 or higher
• Java Version 6.0 or higher
• PlaceEngine Client Software

Preparation

• Please install the latest version of Skype (BuddyRadar requires Skype 3.6 or higher).
• Please install Java Version 6.0 or higher. You can check the version of Java installed on your PC here.
• Please install PlaceEngine Client Software. Please download the appropriate version (Windows XP or Vista version) of the PlaceEngine Client Software from the PlaceEngine site.

Installation Procedure

1. Please download the latest version of BuddyRadar from here.

2. Double click the downloaded "sparc" file, (ex. "BuddyRadar.sparc"). The Skype Extra installation process will start (If installation does not start, please make sure you have the latest version of Skype installed on your PC).

3. The Skype Extras Manager will display a confirmation window, please select "Yes".

   ---

   

4. In order to install BuddyRadar, please accept the End User License Agreement and click OK.

5. A message will be displayed warning that Javaw.exe is trying to access Skype. Please allow Javaw.exe access to Skype. BuddyRadar is based on Java/SWT and runs as Javaw.exe.

6. You can make sure that BuddyRadar has been installed by checking for the BuddyRadar icon in the task bar.
